    Biography

    Andrew Wiles' father, Maurice Frank Wiles (), studied moral sciences and theology at the University of Cambridge, then trained for ordination at Ridley Hall, Cambridge.

    After two years as a curate in Stockport, he became the chaplain at Ridley Hall, Cambridge, from to Andrew's mother was Patricia Margaret Mowll (, known as Paddy). She married Maurice Wiles in , at Cuckfield, Sussex, England.

    Maurice and Patricia Wiles had three children: Patrick David Wiles (born 2 May ); Andrew John Wiles, the subject of this biography; and Alison Ruth Wiles (born 3 August ).
